Prepare God’s people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up (Ephesians 4:12) by providing compelling, transformational worship for GPC.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead Sunday morning worship teams and serve as person responsible for all associated duties
Along with the Pastor and staff of GPC, create a unified compelling Sunday morning worship experience for those attending worship.
Recruit, disciple and grow a contemporary worship team to lead contemporary worship.
Provide discipleship and direction for choral music through a one hour weekly rehearsal and special music presentation opportunities several times a year.
Create and develop a visual arts team that creates, enhances, and supports the Sunday worship theme. Eg: Lead team responsible for thematic decoration of sanctuary.
Support and consult with children’s and youth ministries for musical events.
Supervise Worship Ministries Administrative Assistant
Provide vision and direction
Meet regularly with WMAA
Conduct semi-annual reviews of WMAA
Work with Session, staff and Pastor to develop vision and direction for GPC.
Work with Pastor and staff to develop thematic content for GPC’s spiritual growth and development.
Teach as desired to further discipleship at GPC
Develop and oversee the Tech Team at GPC.
Help Develop long-term Technical and Visual plan for GPC.
Physical and Mental Characteristics
Physical, Mental and Emotional stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position; manual dexterity sufficient to write, use telephone and business machines; vision sufficient to read printed materials; hearing sufficient to conduct in person and telephone conversations; speaking ability in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversational distance and on the telephone; physical agility and physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment and drive an automobile; physical stamina sufficient to sit for prolonged periods of time; mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgment and decisions
• 5 years plus experience in role or similar.
• Passionate, growing follower of Jesus Christ
• Must be familiar with all forms of worship.
• Vocal and musically gifted.
• Able to travel as required for conferences.
• Team player and skilled in building and developing teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communicator.
• Skilled in conflict resolution.
• Possess a teachable heart and a continuous growth mindset.
• Able to multitask in dynamic, potentially high stress Sunday morning environment.
Education: BA in music, preferably from Christian School with Worship training.
