Church Size: 351 to 500
Job Type: Part-Time
JOB OPPORTUNITY PROFILE:
Trinity Fellowship Church - a non-denominational church in a well-established suburb of Dallas, TX - is seeking a motivated, highly relational, and collaborative youth minister to join our staff ministry team. The candidate will be expected to passionately lead a volunteer ministry team to develop, coordinate, and administer an effective spiritual formation and outreach program to jr. High and high school students and parents.
Trinity Fellowship, founded in 1976, is a non-denominational elder-led church
with a solid heritage of expositional teaching and warm fellowship.
OUR CORE PURPOSES AND MINISTRY FOCUS
Worship is our primary purpose and greatest delight. In faithful expression of historic Christian worship, the word and Table are central to our weekly service and are supported by a blend of ancient and contemporary practices, musical styles, and the church calendar. The church’s ministry life flows out of our worship of Triune God together.
Worship, together with Fellowship, Transformation, and Witness are the four core purposes of our church. In 2009, the elders named key areas of ministry focus for each of these purposes: to have a multi-generational reach in our worshipping community; to fellowship by connecting heads and hearts in authentic Christ-honoring relationships; to risk whatever is required for the great joy of transformation into Christ’s image; and to be engaging and life-giving in our witness to the community and the world.
The candidate must be able to embrace this vision, embed it consistently within the youth ministry program, and integrate the students’ lives and service together within the larger worship life of the church body.
OUR MODEL FOR GROWING DISCIPLES
Ministry life at Trinity Fellowship asks that disciples DISCOVER, CONNECT, and SHARE. Every growing disciple is discovering more and more about God’s love through Jesus Christ as revealed in the written Word and through the experience of corporate worship. Every disciple is connected to God through faith in Jesus Christ and growing in relationship within the church family through the unifying work of the Holy Spirit. And every disciple is sharing the transforming work of Christ together with their words and witness.
The ideal candidate will be able to consistently facilitate this ministry model, by lovingly encouraging, equipping, affirming and involving parents in the spiritual development of their students. They must be sensitive to a variety of family convictions, and engage in the broader ministry life of the church.
OUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The candidate must be comfortable participating in a collaborative staff environment and effective in building strong teams for multiplying ministries. They should be able to work with elders, staff and volunteers to establish relationships between students and the body that extend beyond the youth staff and volunteers.
The current opportunity profile is structured for 3/4 time position, but with room to grow. Previous youth ministry experience is welcomed but not required. A seminary degree or current seminary student are preferred.
Send resumes and portfolios to the attention of Keith Hileman, interim pastor, at email@example.com, or Trinity Fellowship Church, 932 S. Greenville Ave., RIchardson, TX 7081.
Candidate submissions will be received through March 2012.
