Program Technology Director
First Baptist Church at the Mall

First Baptist Church at the Mall is dedicated to developing every aspect of believers’ spiritual lives: their connection to God, their connection to growth (other believers), and their connection to ministry. Our passion is to be a place where people from every stage of life can come to make these fundamental connections.

The Program Technology Director serves the ministries of First Baptist Church at the Mall by enabling the sharing of the Gospel through audio, video, lighting and stage design. A deep and growing Christian spiritual commitment is required to fully function in this position.

Specific Tasks
1. Planning
a. Big picture technical planning
b. Create standard operating procedures for all positions
c. Ensure services and events are staffed by production volunteers and staff
d. Ensure everyone has a clear understanding of their role during a service
e. Plan technical needs for other ministry’s events as needed
f. Provide program direction for services and other events
g. Plan for equipment upgrades and systems expansions
h. Plan and design stage sets

2. Management
a. Allocate production resources (budget and equipment) among multiple ministries
b. Ensure all equipment campus wide is functioning properly
c. Ensure replacement, repair, and upgrades of gear that is in need of service or not functioning properly
d. Vendor management

3. Leadership
a. Meet as needed to discuss events, workloads, and personal life with staff and volunteers
b. Shepherd, disciple, and encourage volunteers and staff
c. Recruit, train, and equip production volunteers

4. Other tasks as assigned

Required Skills
1. Strong volunteer and staff leadership skills

2. Highly effective communication skills with staff and volunteers

3. Ability to operate and maintain multiple versions of audio systems
a. Yamaha PM5D
b. Yamaha LS9

4. Ability to operate and maintain multiple video switching systems and associated equipment
a. Tricaster Broadcast
b. Ikegami Cameras and CCUs

5. Ability to edit and export audio and video for various medias and live productions
a. Adobe CS5 Premiere Pro
b. Adobe CS5 Audition

6. Ability to operate and maintain multiple lighting systems and associated equipment
a. Jands VISTA
b. Other traditional lighting boards

7. Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays

1. Ten years of work-related experience operating audio, lighting and video systems
2. Five years of work-related experience in a church
3. Five years of volunteer and staff experience

Organizational Relationship
This position will report to the Worship Pastor and will interact with staff and volunteers.

Working Conditions
This position is a full time (45+ hours/week) and exempt that will be required on nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
