Part Time Communication Coordinator/Graphic Designer for Montrose Zion United Methodist Church

Objective:
Part Time Communication Coordinator/Graphic Designer to join our organization to fill an immediate opening. This position is responsible for the creation of print, web and multimedia content. Individuals must be capable of meeting deadlines and working well with others. Ideal candidates will be passionate and energetic self-starters, highly motivated, hardworking, have experience working with a team and most importantly have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all church communication including posters, brochures, invitations, fliers, various slides in Powerpoint, e-newsletters in Constant Contact, web site and postcards. Duties include the design and layout of weekly worship folders, inserts for worship folders, Powerpoints for services, videos for signage displays, announcement slides for weekly worship and other misc. slides, manage worship schedule and volunteer assignments for weekly worship using Planning Center Online, update web site, Twitter, Facebook, design monthly prayer guides, design and place newspaper ads, publish weekly e-Newsletter in Constant Contact, create bulk emails in Constant Contact and keep Welcome Desk and display walls organized and current. The church recently became a multi-site church and the candidate will also do some design work with other sites working with their pastors accordingly.

Other Responsibilities:
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Work with vendors
• Other assignments as needed

Desired Skills:
• Has 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design at an agency/church or as an internal graphic designer
• Strong portfolio that highlights excellent creative design skills along with attention to detail, quality and proofreading
• Has extensive experience in graphics production and web design, with a thorough understanding of production tools - i.e. with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Ability to prepare files for multiple targets: print, web, multimedia, PDF
• Proficiency with MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Power Point, MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat Professional
