The Director of Ministry Development (DMD) serves as a Growth Catalyst, organizing, developing and administering a Ministry Program that is growing, mission-driven, outreach-focused, and Small Group structured, under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor and in cooperation with the Executive Team,
The DMD is a networking leader responsible for oversight and development of NVCF Ministries, with an emphasis on Small Groups, Connections, & Partner (Volunteer) Relations. The DMD develops and directs appropriate processes and procedures which foster a growing number of Leaders, Coaches and Partners in NVCF’s varied Ministries.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The DMD is tasked with overseeing 5 primary areas of ministry with an ability and responsibility to lead teams effectively and to raise up new leaders. Exceptional administrative, organizational, and developmental skills are essential to the success of maintaining and expanding this Ministry Network. Must be extremely hard-working and have had leadership experience with a large and growing church or churches.
• Small Groups Ministry:
o Recruit, develop, train & equip an ever expanding team of Coaches and Small Group Leaders.
Direct & be the “face” of NVCF Small Group Network.
Ultimate Goal of 80% of church body active in Small Groups.
• Partner (Volunteer) Relations Ministry:
o Mobilize church-wide partner base through ongoing Partner Appreciation (Events, Rallies, etc), training and equipping.
o Administrate and assure Ministry Leaders are properly assimilating and equipping Partners into ongoing training events.
o Serve as church Point Person for Partners (Communication, Troubleshooting.)
o Responsible for ongoing growth of NVCF Partner Base.
• Connections Ministry:
o Develop, administer, and oversee moving first time guests, new believers and others into Small Groups and active Ministry Participation, becoming fully developed and involved members.
o Implementation, oversight and partial teaching of Adult Education Program (Christian Foundations; New Believers Classes, etc.)
• General Ministry Management:
o Coordinate inner-staff communication among ministries.
o Identify necessary tools to measure, evaluate and manage the effectiveness and success of “Release” Ministries. (Prayer, Meals, Transportation, Exceptional Kids, Helping Hands, Gatekeepers, Men’s/Women’s, etc.)
o Coordination of Special Events & Outreach Events:
o Oversee Special Event Team (S.E.T.) Meetings as Senior Pastor deems necessary.
o Point Person for Church-Wide Events (Sunrise on the Shore, AutumnFest, Thanksgiving Sunday Supper; etc.)
• Pastoral Team:
o Platform Presence and other participation with Weekend Celebration Services (prayer, announcements, etc.); hospital visits; counseling; occasional leading of staff meetings or training sessions.
o Contribute to the preaching rotation as requested by the Senior Pastor.
Additional Responsibilities and Expectations
• Commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ.
• 3-5yrs. experience in ministry leadership in like church setting preferred; not required.
• Passionate celebration and ownership of the mission, vision, values and purposes of New Venture Christian Fellowship and Schools.
• Ability to work flexible and /or overtime hours when required, to complete projects.
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor, servant’s heart and a can-do attitude.
