West Evangelical Free Church in Wichita, KS is currently taking applications for the position of Pastor of Student Ministries. Pastor of Student Ministries

General Description: To Partner with parents in Developing fully devoted followers of Christ by intentionally building students who Know Christ and passionately pursuing those without Christ.

1. Personal
a. Maintain and model a vibrant, growing Christian life
b. Maintain healthy, vibrant relationships, including family relationships
c. Continue a lifestyle of personal growth and development
2. Ministry Responsibilities
a. Provide vision and strategic leadership for entire WEFC student ministry
b. Identify personal focus in ministry and develop paid and volunteer staff to complement areas of strength and weakness
c. Develop both student and adult leaders to multiply the ministry
d. Oversee teaching, curriculum, outreach and events for the entire student ministry (including Sunday School, small groups, etc.)
e. Maintain regular contact ministry with staff, students and parents
f. Develop and equip parents to be the primary pastor to their children
g. Keep the youth ministry solidly a part of the church ministry and vision (not a ministry silo)
h. Refine and enhance existing student ministries and evaluate the need for different ministries as appropriate
i. Be a team player, committed to the vision of the church and fulfilling other duties as needed for the success of the entire team
j. Potentially coach/encourage student ministry leaders in WEFC church plants.

• Paid staff
Oversee, equip and evaluate our paid staff which currently includes two administrative support staff and interns

• Parents
a. Provide on-going coaching and counsel for believing parents such that they can be the primary spiritual mentors of their children
b. Partner with parents in their quest to raise students who are fully devoted followers of Christ
c. Provide counsel as appropriate

• Adult Youth Staff
Oversee recruitment, training, equipping, development and evaluation of adult staff who will assist in evangelizing, equipping, encouraging and discipling students and their parents

• Students
a. Provide solid, Biblical teaching that challenges students to spiritual growth, both in knowledge and life application
b. Develop students, designing a ministry that will cultivate growth in students in each of the 7C’s
c. Develop student leaders, equipping them to lead and serve both inside and outside the youth ministry
d. Plan catalyst-type events, conferences, camps, retreats and missions trips to further spiritual instruction and growth
e. Create regular opportunities for fellowship, outreach, service, and witness
f. Encourage caring relationships for evangelism, enfolding guests and for deepening relationships within the group
g. Provide counsel for students as appropriate
