South Shore Baptist is a suburban church in Hingham, MA, south of Boston. We are committed to the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word and Gospel in shaping our church, our ministries, and our lives. SSBC belongs to the Conservative Baptist Association and has ties with 9Marks ministries. SSBC is a church with seven full-time and several part-time employees. Our church averages 650-700+ in attendance in two Sunday services and currently has a membership of over 450. We have recently completed construction of a church expansion. We have a long-term vision of church planting, pastoral intern training, and serving as a resource to other local congregations.

Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced individual to serve as a full-time youth director. This position reports to one of our Associate Pastors and will provide leadership to our junior and senior high school ministries. This individual should fit the following profile:
• This individual must be in agreement with our church’s doctrinal statement and affirm our membership covenant.
• We desire a man who embraces reformed theology, and who has a vision for reformation by God’s Word in the local church.
• We are a congregation with individuals from multiple theological and church backgrounds, and so this individual must be able to work effectively in that context while faithfully articulating a biblical vision for Christian life and ministry.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree minimum. Theological and Bible training required.
• A minimum of three years experience in related ministry required.

Job Description
• Partnering with Parents to Make Disciples of Teenagers
o Facilitating training for parents to be disciple-makers of their own teens
o Mobilizing and engaging parents as partners with the church youth program and outreach to teens
o Assisting elders and pastoral staff in shepherding parents of teens
• Personally Loving and Making Disciples of Teens through the Gospel
o Expositing the Bible regularly with teens
o Counseling and Discipling teens one-on-one
o Creating a welcoming and safe atmosphere within youth ministry through personal care of teens and through fostering loving community between teens
o Leading teens to engage in gospel outreach to other teens and their community
• Leading Youth Ministry Program
o Overseeing recruitment, coaching and leadership of lay youth leaders
o Coordinating junior and senior high Sunday school in conjunction with overall Christian education strategy
o Overseeing weekly youth meetings as well as special events: local evangelistic outreaches, retreats, training sessions and missions trips
• Integrating Youth Ministry with Church’s Mission
o Leading youth ministry to support the church’s larger mission and strategy
o Integrating youth into the life and ministry of the church
o Building up the congregation by being committed to the church’s vision and philosophy of ministry
