Shady Oaks Baptist Church is located in Hurst, TX and is seeking a full time Minister to Students for our junior high and high school students. We are seeking a high-energy and creative individual with a minimum of three years previous experience as a student minister, and a successful track record of leading a youth group of 50+ students. The ideal candidate will have a specific call on his life to minister and connect to students and their families. He will be able to demonstrate a plan and passion for teaching students the joy of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the study and application of Biblical truths to their daily lives, and he will provide creative ways for students to have a good time as they worship and learn about Jesus Christ. This position is responsible for large and small group student meetings on campus on Sundays and Wednesdays. In addition, this position requires planning special and outreach events for the student ministry and being creative with tech opportunities. If you are passionate about reaching our multi-cultural community in creative ways, passionate in sharing your faith, like having a good time with the students, and can give leadership to students and workers, pray about SOBC. We are a church that is passionate about reaching people who are far from God and leading them to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Report to Senior Pastor
Experience in multiple staff setting, including educational and/or discipleship ministry experience with young people from grades 7 through high school.
Have the ability to design and implement a total education and ministry experience for young people from grades 7 through high school.
Have the ability to relate to, develop, and equip the youth in their spiritual growth and lives in Christ.
Strive to understand and utilize the spiritual gifts within the youth in the church and community.
Be a member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church, having given a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ. Have made, or are currently making, a commitment to proper stewardship of all resources God has entrusted in their care; illustrated by a commitment to the Biblical concept of the tithe.
An individual who leads a servant/leader life and is personally committed to maintaining a moral and spiritual lifestyle as described in Scripture. Believe and uphold the doctrines as stated in the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message.
Must be an individual with strong communication skills with involvement in leadership, strategic planning, and building teams and consensus to fulfill and advance the vision of the church and Pastor.
Have knowledge and skills with video editing, web design, and sound & media.
Support the ministry and leadership of Shady Oaks Baptist Church through prayer and attendance.
Have or be pursuing a Master’s degree, preferably from a Baptist Seminary.
Meet the biblical qualifications for a pastor (I Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1:5-9).
Be a hardworking, self-motivated staff pastor.
Be an out-going, fun loving, team player.
