Associate Pastor of Worship and Witness

College Hill Presbyterian Church is seeking a Associate Pastor for Worship and witness. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum 5 years direct experience leading a growing, dynsmic worship ministry and with a M.Div. or similar background.

Major Job Responsibilities
Worship Shepherd
• Lead congregation deeper into meaningful worship and expand the congregational heart and capacity for worship; serve as worship mentor for the congregation
• Take the lead in regularly assessing all worship services for effectiveness; promote organizational learning and initiate appropriate improvements when necessary
• Manage, supervise, and disciple the support communication and worship staff as well as part-time employees (ie: Choir Director, Worship Leader, Organist, Sound Technician, additional instrumentalists, etc.)
• Identify and encourage those within the congregation being called by God for involvement in worship ministry at CHPC

Worship Director
• Central point of contact for all matters, including financial, concerning worship, music, drama and the arts; ensures well-planned and well-executed worship services and events
• Work with worship planning teams to design Sunday worship services and special gatherings of the congregation
• Coordinate lay team involvement in the service planning processes in partnership with the ministerial staff

Spiritual Development
• Equip and empower lay leaders to give of their gifts and talents, and finds ways to engage, recognize and encourage individuals to serve in worship and witness ministries at CHPC
• Oversee new member and visitor experiences (facilitated by the deacons) to better connect individuals to the body at CHPC
• Function as member of the pastoral team and participate in the preaching schedule as requested

Witness (NOTE: Witness is expected to grow out of a community expanding and growing in authentic worship.)
• Develop services, learning opportunities, and artistic events that foster encounters with Jesus for those both inside and outside the Body of Christ
• Model a passion for communicating as well as living the Gospel of Jesus
• Work with staff and congregation on existing witness events (e.g. Block Party).

Salary Range $50,000 - $55,000
