Job Description:
The Department of Marketing with the Division of University Relations has an opening for a Graphic Designer. The Graphic Designer creates visual images that communicate the mission of Indiana Wesleyan University in a unified image supportive of the overall brand strategy and graphic design needs of the university. Illustration and both print and web design are key components of this position.

Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the In House Design team in the creation of dynamic graphic design elements, illustrations, and other artwork

Manage the design process from consulting with clients and concept creation to final delivery and cataloguing for print publications, the web site and other media. Potential projects include:
Anniversary celebrations
Campus and/or building development
The Triangle quarterly publication
Performing Arts Series promotional materials
Student handbook
University Preview Weekend promotional materials
University advertising
Residence Life brochures and student activities projects
Adult and Professional Studies advertisements and brochures
Athletic posters and brochures
Admissions projects and assorted departmental pieces

Follow up with departmental clients to evaluate projects and their effectiveness

Recognize and move adeptly between projects that allow for more creativity and those that require strict adherence to already established visual identity guidelines

Keep updated on current trends and technologies related to the visual arts

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing

• Baccalaureate degree required; BA or BS in Graphic Design, Communication or Media Arts
• Three - Five years of graphic design and communications experience
• Demonstrated experience with the design development process from initial client consultation to concept creation, final delivery and post project assessment
• Experience with vendor relations
• MAC skills required; must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software
• Ability to work independently within a highly collaborative team
• Comfortable within a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment
• Organized, highly creative and able to receive constructive criticism appropriately
• Understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of the university
