Job Description:
Cornerstone Christian Fellowship is a new and growing fellowship of believers looking for our first pastor to partner with us in becoming a true Acts 2 church. We are looking for a pastor who will lead us in: the teaching of the Word; the warm fellowship of believers; aggressive, faith-filled prayer; exuberant praise and worship; constantly seeking the leadership and presence of the Holy Spirit; creatively and genuinely reaching out to the non-believers in our community; experiencing the sacraments in a fresh new way; developing and fostering unity among the believers. That is a big vision but we believe with all of our hearts that we serve a BIG God and this is what God has called us to be. We have the leadership and vision and workers who will unite under the power of the Holy Spirit and the leadership of God's pastor to see great things accomplished for the Kingdom in Lewisburg, PA.

We are looking for a person with great faith and with a deep and consistent prayer life. A person who loves Jesus and people. A person who can minister to the whole family. A person who is dedicated to preaching the Word without compromise. A person who is a shepherd to the flock in their time of need.
A person with vision and the ability to unite and motivate the congregation around that vision. A person who has strong organizational skills to keep our ministries focused with dynamic, trained leaders. A person committed to clear communication and is familiar with all new communication modes including email, Facebook, Twitter and whatever else we need to get the love of Jesus communicated to our fellowship and community. And a sense of humor would be really nice!

Cornerstone was founded two years ago with a few families meeting for prayer and Bible study. Almost immediately we grew and had to rent a gym for Sunday services, which is where we still meet. We have grown to a group of about 130 and are still growing. We have been served by two outstanding retired pastors and a member of the church who has taught when they were unable to be with us, but we know that now is the time to seek God for the services of a full-time pastor. We have a number of active ministries including visitation to the sick, CornerstoneCares ministry to hurting and needy people, a Senior High ministry, a Junior High ministry, a marriage enrichment ministry, a 'fellowship' ministry for potlucks and fun get-togethers, a prayer ministry and more. (Sidenote: we love ministries but must guard against ministry overload and business that replaces spiritual depth. We have no desire for a church that is a mile wide in multiple things happening while only an inch deep spiritually. Spiritual depth is most important over the number of ministries and activities.)

We purchased a property in December and have begun construction of a new 300 seat sanctuary just this week. We are a strongly unified group who loves Jesus and loves one another. We are financially stable and located in a wonderful college town where there are thousands who really need to experience the love of Jesus. Lewisburg is a great town to raise families with good schools and a nice local hospital. However, if the big city is your thing you will not find that here! Lots of fields, cows, deer, mountains, rivers and streams just out of town.

Doctrinally we share the Wesleyan theology, and would not be comfortable with a pastor who believes in the Calvinist, Charismatic or Emergent church views. Please respect that when considering us.

This is a great opportunity for someone with God's anointing to get in on the ground floor of a new church and just follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as we seek to grow in the love and grace of Jesus and impact our needy community for Jesus.

Please send your resume along with a personal letter sharing who you are and how you feel you can meet our needs and vision.
