TRBC has two worship services and two concurrent Sunday school hours. The first service and Sunday school begins at 9:15 and the second service and Sunday school begins at 10:45. The high school ministry has Sunday school classes at both hours divided by age groups. We are currently using curriculum published by Student Life. We strongly encourage all of our students to attend one Sunday school and participate in corporate worship every Sunday.
Sold out is our weekly worship time for high school and middle school students. Each Wednesday night at 6:30-7:30 the High School ministry meets in the 2nd floor Youth building (The Loft) while the middle school meets on the first floor (The Arena). The High School has a student band which leads out for about 20 minutes of worship and then there is a teaching/preaching time led by the High School Associate Pastor.
D-Now is every spring and is a time for the entire youth ministry to spend an entire weekend dedicated to discipleship and spiritual growth.
Deeper is a weekend event dedicated to training those high school students who desire to be leaders of the High School ministry and want to grow deeper in their faith.
Summer Sold Out
Summer Sold Out is our Wednesday nights activities and teaching during the summer. Each summer the student ministry is ramped up and expanded. A different theme is chosen each year, the arena is decorated and the students dress up in theme related costumes for competition, worship and teaching.
Each summer the ministry dedicates one week to take as many students as possible to camp. The past two years, we have planned and executed our own camp experience. We have utilized the facilities of Camp Dixie in Eastern North Carolina. We brought in an outside band and speaker. In 2010 we also brought in the Skit Guys, this year we brought in an illusionist to enhance the camp experience.
Each Summer the High School ministry also goes on a mission trip. These trips are from seven to ten days. The last three years we have gone to Texas, Tennessee, and Puerto Rico.
The Associate Pastor of High School ministries will report to Jerry Thornton (Pastor of Education Ministries). Jerry has been with TRBC since 2006 and directly reports to Curtis Clark (Senior Pastor).
