Worship Leader

Generations Community Church
Nicholasville, Kentucky, United States

Denominations: Non-Denominational
Church Size: 101 to 150
Job Type: Part-Time

Job Description:
Generations is a seven-year-old church plant in Nicholasville, Kentucky that is seeking a paid part-time worship leader. This individual will oversee music for our Sunday morning worship gatherings (currently just one service) and will work with our lead pastor in putting together services that make regulars here wonder, "What's next?" and guests say, "I want to come back." More than anything, however, we want this individual (and those who create our worship gatherings) to help people encounter the living God.

Generations is accustomed to singing the "standard fare" of today's contemporary services (Tomlin, Fee, etc.), but we have noticed that this church loves to sing hymns. We are currently in the process of moving away from the prevailing business model (in designing worship experiences) toward something that has a greater emphasis upon the tangible presence of God (granted, something that is perhaps harder to define).

Generations is unusual for churches in our city on several fronts: we have a strong emphasis upon helping families pass on their faith, we are mostly comprised of "transplants" to the greater Lexington area, and we have a diverse range of people (all accepted here) that include tattoos, etc. (something Southern culture has yet to fully embrace as "okay" in "God's house.")

Contact our lead pastor, Max Vanderpool, to ask questions and determine if this position is something you would be interested in pursuing.
