Job Description:
Forest Park is a growing and thriving church in Southwest Missouri. We’re a multi-site church based out of Joplin, MO. We are looking for a gifted worship leader who will engage and lead our congregation in Christ-exalting worship at our Carthage campus.

We are in search of a worship leader with a modern bent. Key qualities are: deep spiritual rootedness, creative catalyst, professional musical competency, tech savvy, able to develop a worship focused arts team, gets “connectivity” and 21st century communications. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as worship leader in a contemporary, forward-thinking church.

Our prayer is that God will provide us with a musically and vocally talented leader who can attract, nurture, develop, and lead a strong, talented team of artists. Our preferred leader is one who brings enthusiasm and creativity to the important work of connecting people to Christ through worship.

Our sound is one like Hillsong United, Fee Band, Desperation Band, Gungor Band, David Crowder Band and Chris Tomlin. Songs we love are “Our God”, “I Will Follow”, “The Stand”, “Everlasting God”, “Glory to God”, "Happy Day", “Hosanna (Brooke Frasier), “Forever Reign”, “Lead Me to the Cross”, “Beautiful Things”, “Your Love Never Fails” and “How He Loves.” If these are some of your favorite songs too, then let’s talk.

Summary of Position:
- Plan and lead Sunday morning worship services
- Shepherd and provide ministerial support to worship team members (music and tech)
- Develop musicianship with existing worship team members
- Find and recruit new musicians and build depth into the band
- Work with the Campus Pastor to direct flow of worship services
- Direct and lead music for special services (Easter, Christmas, etc.)
- Exhort and encourage the congregation during worship
- Must be an equipper and team builder (Ephesians 4)
- Manage finances with regard to the worship ministry at the Carthage campus

- Must be a mature Christian and baptistic in your beliefs
- Must become an involved member at Forest Park Carthage
- Must fulfill the qualifications of an elder/deacon in 1 Timothy 3
- Have some musical or theological training or be willing to get some
- Have a genuine love for discipleship and encouraging others
- Willing to accept feedback and growth in the position
- Possesses high organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrates variety in style and creativity in music
- Able to learn and teach new songs to the congregation
- Willing to tag team with the Campus Pastor (Greg Atkinson) in planning innovative, powerful and compelling worship experiences
- Shows selectivity in songs, playing music which is theologically sound

- Will report directly to Campus Pastor
- Will lead the band and tech team
- Will schedule and coordinate the band and tech
- Will work with other team leaders in the church ministry
- Will be involved with a LifeGroup and build relationship both in the church and in the community
- Will be expected to get to know local musicians and build depth into the band and tech team
