This position has the primary responsibility to maintain recording and tracking of accounting activity to support accurate and timely financial reporting. This is accomplished by providing accounting support for all areas including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, contributions, deposits, and fixed assets.
This person must possess the ability to work well independently and be highly organized. Person must have strong communication skills, time management and problem solving skills. The ability to take initiative, be self motivated and improve process is highly valued in this position.
Responsibilities included but not limited to; maintain the integrity of the Chart of Accounts in order to provide the most faithful administration and stewardship of God’s resources; work alongside Director, Business Administration in developing and implementing annual budget for Christ Church and any multisite locations; create financial, budget and banking reports as requested; provide financial data and reports to Deacon Board in preparation of monthly meetings, finance committee meetings and the annual congregational meeting; audit of semimonthly payroll including preparation of quarterly tax returns, annual W2’s and remittances to the 403b plan; serve as the main point of contact for donors; maintain accounting and financial and reporting system; plan and organize the year-end close process; serve as liaison to external auditors; maintain financial policies and procedures manual and ensure compliance to them; safeguard church assets by evaluating internal controls, performing a fraud risk assessment and reporting findings; monitor compliance with loan agreements and compile quarterly information for them; and establish and maintain ongoing ACH payments and contributions.
Requirements and Experience:
Non-profit accounting experience desired, CPA preferred, 5+ years accounting or finance experience, strong communication, technology and analytical skills required, ability to multi-task with an attention to detail.
