Job Description:
Gardendale- Mt. Vernon United Methodist is currently searching for a Director of Children’s Ministries. Gardendale-Mt. Vernon, located just north of Birmingham, Alabama, is a growing church with 750 in three different styles of Sunday morning worship services. The church has one of the best weekday children’s ministries in the area, which brings a lot of children and young families to the church. We are looking for someone who will bring that same excellence to the rest of children and family ministries. This person will give leadership in implementing our church’s vision with children and families - “Growing more fully committed disciples of Jesus Christ.” A love for Jesus Christ and a sense of calling to full-time ministry is vital. Preference will be given to persons who have experience in leading a growing children’s ministry and have a Baccalaureate Degree. Candidate must possess understanding and passion for worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach. Candidate should also possess a capacity for visionary team building and equipping for the sake of effective ministry.
