Job Description:
Neelsville Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time Contemporary Worship Leader to join our team in blending traditional and contemporary elements in our Sunday services. We believe that the good news of God's grace in Christ elicits joyful praise in varied expression from those He has redeemed.

General Duties
Follow the lead of our pastors to create a well-planned and well-executed worship service.
Collaborate with chancel choir director and music leaders in coordinating appropriate music for worship.
Facilitate the development of an accomplished praise band to lead congregation in worship.
Coordinate / lead musical worship one Sunday per month and assist 2-3 Sunday's per month.
Lead weekly Praise Band rehearsals, including prayer and practice.
Recruit, equip, lead, and disciple volunteer praise band members.
Work with the Worship Committee to create schedules, order music, keep instruments and sound equipment in order.
Attend staff meeting and monthly worship meeting.

Maturing commitment to and growing love for Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Professional degree in music preferred, with an emphasis on worship music or commensurate experience (min 3 years).
Love for contemporary worship music and respect for traditional worship music.
Highly skilled ability to lead worship vocally while playing guitar or keyboard.
An active, meaningful life of prayer.
Ability to lead, equip and disciple volunteer singers and musicians.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with staff and congregation.
Team player who can clearly articulate their perspective while appreciating lines of authority.
Self-starter who welcomes a challenge to introduce new forms of contemporary worship into a traditional service style.

This is a year around, part-time, position with heavy hours on Sunday mornings and one weeknight for band practice. It is expected this person will work between 15-20 hours per week. Vacation and time off approved with Head of Staff. Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
