Youth Pastor

Responsible for the development and oversight of all Sidney First youth ministries (junior high and senior high) that seek the lost and disciple the found. Utilizing and developing programs that promote outreach, worship, fellowship, discipleship and missions.
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Qualifications and Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (masters preferred) and/or experience in youth ministry
• Ability to create and execute a long term vision for Sidney First youth ministry.
• Passion for evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level.
• A teacher with a strong Biblical and theological background, who is in agreement with Sidney First mission to make disciples of Christ.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and organize effective youth programs implementing fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism, as well as ministry and mission opportunities.
• Promote and grow the youth program with informed and defined calendar of events
• Schedule, prepare curriculum/activities and lead/participate in midweek youth program
• Recruit, train, equip staff and laity as Spiritual Nurturers of Youth and as Leaders of the Youth Ministry
• Attend, support and represent Sidney First at significant community and school youth events.
• Provide general pastoral care and spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis, group settings and community/school events.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of people, including pastors, youth, parents and community members.
• Evangelize and minister to the lost through outreach activities
• Maintain contact with students and parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities. Keep parents updated on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement.
