Director of Senior HighYouth Ministries
(40 hours/week)

This is a full-time, exempt position with the primary function of overseeing the Senior High ministry of the church. The position will focus primarily creating and casting vision based upon youth culture and the local situation for the purpose of recruiting, equipping, and leading parents and lay ministers to carry out this vision.

• Ability to minister by equipping others to minister
• Ability to study and think about youth culture as a cultural anthropologist
• Minimum of 4 years experience in leading large youth ministry
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (seminary or graduate degree preferred)

• Provide vision, direction, and oversight for the Senior High ministry in alignment with the church’s vision and values
• Design ministry fitting to a Northeastern, Catholic context
• Recruit, equip, and shepherd a team of parents and volunteer leaders to minister to the needs of youth
• Integrate youth ministry within the larger church body and ministries
• Organize and lead youth to engage in mission endeavors
• Participate with area churches in joint youth ministry endeavors (ex. Flower City Work Camp)
• Be involved in the direct teaching of youth
• Recruit, train, equip, and oversee youth teachers
• Facilitate appropriate counsel to the spiritual and emotional needs of youth
• Facilitate appropriate counsel and direction to parents of youth
• Provide regular training, communication, and feedback to youth and their parents
• Keep abreast of current trends of youth culture and methods of youth ministry
• Attend all relevant staff and youth ministry meetings

Reporting relationship: reports directly to the Pastor of Spiritual Formation
