Job Description:
The Wesleyan Church of Hamburg (WCH) is a growing church in the Southtowns of Buffalo, New York with weekly average attendance approaching 2000. WCH has created a new position on its Lead Team focused on the area of personal growth, engaging relationships and group life in an effort to build foundational truth in relationship with others as they seek God’s purpose for them. We will do this through a semester scheduled format, catering to a person’s unique level of development and needs. This position works together with the Equipping Pastor and the Family Pastor in determining content and direction for an overall church strategy in the area of discipleship. There will be one or more times through the year when everyone in the church is learning the same truth, allowing the entire church population to focus on applying the same truth together.

We are looking for a Growth & Group Life Pastor who will oversee all ministries pertaining to growth & group life ministry area with the responsibility of coaching/working with other ministries in the church to assist in developing these areas also in order to maintain the integrity of the growth & group life processes. We currently have both semester and legacy groups within the church based on what we believe are the nine (9) foundational components of a personal growth process:

2. Growth – Developing the Inner Life
3. Godly Relationships – Cultivating Healthy Relationships
4. Community – Living in Authentic Biblical Community
5. Calling – Fulfilling You Unique Life Purpose
6. Christ-Centered Thinking – Developing the Mind of Christ
7. Sharing Christ – Continuing the Ministry of Jesus
8. Stewardship – Managing God’s Resources
9. Spiritual Power – Living by the Holy Spirit

We currently have a large number of ministry partners (volunteers) serving in our area of Growth and Group Life.
The Growth & Group Life Pastor will live wholeheartedly for Jesus, evidenced by godly character, passion for God, desire to reach the lost, Spirit filled faith, and genuine humility. He or she will have a Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years experience with proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate volunteer teams. The Growth & Group Life Pastor will lead a team of paid staff and ministry partners.
