Student Ministry Position Description
Peace Lutheran Church
Full-time: $35-50,000 starting, depending on experience

Purpose of our Ministry: To Love—God, neighbor, self.

Qualities of our Student Ministry Leader: (the desired qualities of our Student Ministry Leader reflect the values of this congregation)
• Maturing faith as a follower of Jesus, formed by Love
• A servant heart
• A passion for students
• Self-initiator with a personal desire to intentionally grow as a follower of Jesus
• Ability to recruit, work with, and develop adult leaders for the ministry
• One who will honor confidentiality in their ministry
• One who will make the whole staff team better by their presence
• Fluent in and an active presence on social media

• Develop a student ministry (6-12th grades) that creates an environment where growth is possible: openness, allowing of questions, encouraging, hopeful, centered in God's love for all
• Work with and train a group of adults to build healthy, authentic relationships with students
• Work with pastoral staff to re-envision, lead, and teach in our Confirmation ministry
• Work with staff to incorporate students throughout congregational life: worship, serving, giving, leading
• Lead experiences of serving both locally and through summer trips
• Assist parents in living as followers of Jesus with their children
• Work within the given child-safety policies of the congregation
