The Church on Rush Creek
Mansfield, Texas, United States
Date Posted: 06/06/2011
Categories: Youth Pastor
Church Size: 2501 to 3000
Job Type: Full-Time
Our students don’t need another “best friend”, they need a MENTOR!
Our adults don’t need someone to do it all, they need a LEADER!
Our church doesn’t need a cool program, we need a place where God, students, and adults mix it up, ask questions and LIVE OUT their faith
Our community doesn’t need another church student ministry, it needs students and adult leaders that care about reaching teenagers for Christ and believe that they can CHANGE their world!
About us: Fellowship of the Metroplex is a non denominational, 15 year old church plant in Mansfield Texas. We run between 350-400 people most weekends and currently have about 35-40 students connected to our student ministry. We aren’t the coolest church in the metroplex, we don’t have enough money to buy a student ministry, and we haven’t got it all figured out. We do have a great group of people with a servant’s heart, no “sacred cows”, and a great team/staff that are excited to be part of what God is doing. We keep it simple here: Love God, Love Others; and it looks something like this: We want people to develop a genuine worship of God, a genuine relationship with Christians, and a genuine heart for our community and world. We were a Southern Baptist church plant in the beginning, so our doctrine is still very similar, however our methods are creative. You will be free to do your job, but will have accountability and be part of a team environment. We work hard to make sure that all of our ministries are part of one vision. No lone rangers needed. Currently our student and children’s ministries are part of the Orange network of ministry. We are NOT a charismatic church, so be honest about your expectations before you apply!
About you: We are looking for someone with Student ministry experience. This is a critical time in our church and with expected growth, we don’t have time to waste. We need someone that has shown the ability to love teenagers, grow a ministry, connect with adults to build a team of volunteers, and understands the necessity of small group ministry with students. We need a team player and someone who understands that ministry is messy! Passion for seeing life change in students is a must and you must be able to follow through and get the job done: no excuses. This is a great opportunity for someone to cast the vision and build a great ministry, which takes times, so we are looking for someone desiring to lay down some roots and stay a while!
Salary: No need for an elephant in the room: our complete salary package is $50,000.
******* Please email resumes or questions to: Scott Oldenburgh (email@example.com) AND Chris Farrell (firstname.lastname@example.org). We will not be accepting resumes sent through the church staffing website. Accepting resumes through July 15th. We are hoping to fill this position by Sept 1, 2011.
