Church Size: 4001 to 5000
Job Type: Full-Time
Hill Country Bible Church NW in Austin, TX is currently looking for its next class of Emerging Leader Residents.
The Emerging Leader Residency is a 12-month experience on staff at Hill Country Bible Church, with a focus on missional outreach to an unchurched culture. This residency exposes young leaders to doing ministry on a large church staff as well as learning experiences designed to develop a lifelong missional worldview. The goal of the residency is to equip young Christian leaders to live out their passion for service to others, to help people at their point of need, and reach them with the good news of Jesus Christ.
For one year, residents will be on staff with HCBC working in a targeted ministry while also engaging in shared learning experiences to round out their experience. Each resident will have the opportunity to lead new entrepreneurial initiatives while also being mentored by staff and lay leaders. This experience is uniquely designed to both grow young leaders and allow them to thrive with opportunities to lead missional outreach efforts.
Some of the shared learning experiences include working alongside a church planter during the launch phase of a new plant, a short-term mission trip, discipleship, spiritual and professional development, and involvement in a number of other churchwide initiatives.
The Emerging Leader Residency is a paid stint on staff with full medical benefits and each resident is required to live in community housing. It is more than a full-time job…it is doing life with others by connecting with unchurched people groups and serving the community.
The salary for this position is $25,000 for the year. Each resident will also raise $2,500 for a mission trip. Qualified candidates will have a college degree, leadership experience in ministry, have been discipled and are actively discipling others, and have a passion for evangelism.
The 2011-2012 Emerging Leader Residency will begin on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. For more information about Hill Country Bible Church and to apply for the residency, please visit http://www.hcbc.com/leadership/emerging-leaders and download the application and questionnaire. Fill out both documents electronically (we will collect any necessary signatures at a later date) and email both documents, along with your resume, to Jennifer Raulie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
