Ministry Profile

Title: Children's Director / Pastor

Purpose: To enlist, equip, and motivate people to do the work of ministry in the children’s division in order to assist the church in its mission to help people become Real with God, Real with Each Other, and Real in the World.

Gifts: He / She must have the gift of leadership (creation, organization, motivation, administration, supervision, and delegation), communication (teaching and writing), and equipping, i.e., he must be a discipler of those under his care, able to provide direction and guidance.

Ministry Responsibilities

Be available to counsel parents regarding family issues and concerns.

Lead at least two Parent’s Information Meetings per year at optimum times for children’s schedules and parents needs to Apprise the parents of the plans for the semester ahead.
Assist our summer day camp team in the development of our annual ministry to 300 + children.
Devise specialized getaways for specific groups (i.e. mother / daughter retreat, father / son, etc)
Work with the Grozone (Sunday morning ministry to K - 5th graders) and Grove (Wednesday night ministry to K - 5th graders) ministries leaders to enlist, equip, and motivate the staff coaches.
Supervise and director Nursery and Preschool Directors
Write regular articles for the Church Newsletter.

Corporate Responsibilities

Meet with the pastor and other staff regularly to report on the progress and potential of the ministries he / she leads.
Sharpen ministry skills by attending at least one professional seminar each year.
Attend the monthly administrative board meetings as a non-voting participant in the meetings. Provide a monthly report to the board.
Develop and oversee the budget for children’s ministries.
Be available to the lead pastor for various assignments, as he deems necessary.


The Children's Director will be accountable to the Lead Pastor for everyday assignments, responsibilities, and growth in ministry effectiveness.
The Lead Pastor will evaluate his / her overall performance in ministry on a regular basis as needed.
Our staff and board seek to have a team relationship, and so we have mutual accountability to each other for growth in character and skills.
