Job Description:
The Creative Communications team at Sugar Creek Baptist Church is a highly creative and collaborative environment with a mission to support and inspire the ministries of Sugar Creek with innovative and effective media. We are a team of producers, directors, artists, designers, writers, programmers, technicians and musicians who are passionate about developing and executing shockingly beautiful, creative media to reach an audience who respond to spiritual concepts spoken in a visual language. We have received several awards recognizing our work and share a desire to distribute our resources and knowledge with the vision of raising the effectiveness of Christian media.

The Director of Technical Production is a creative, energetic and organized team member who passionately pursues a vision for the innovative and effective use of audio and visual production technologies in ministry. The DTP plans, organizes, and directs the creative and technical production of live events for the church and their recording and distribution on various media. The DTP continually recruits, trains, organizes and leads a large volunteer community in the weekly preparation and creative production of weekend worship services as well as other programs and events. He/she constantly strives to achieve excellence in the creative display and technical quality of video, audio, lighting, graphics and image magnification for the purpose of enhancing the worship experience and maximizing the presentation of the teaching ministry. The DTP ensures that all of these production elements collectively achieve a quality digital record for distribution on various media and online. He/she collaborates creatively and provides technical assistance throughout the Creative Communications division. Additionally, the DTP devotes a number of hours each week to the Worship and Creative Arts Ministry in order to plan and provide the live production support needed in that area.

The Director of Technical Production researches, purchases, installs and is responsible for correct operation of all technical production equipment across campus. The DTP routinely examines and tests production equipment to ensure all audio, video, computer, lighting, and projection equipment is fully operational and ready to be used. When equipment does not perform as expected, the DTP schedules repair or replacement, tracks progress and ensures that technical problems do not prevent normal operations from proceeding.

The DTP serves on the Creative Communications division staff and is immediately responsible to the Pastor of Creative Communications. He/she will be expected to make himself available for ministry opportunities with ministers of other divisions in the spirit of teamwork on any other projects deemed appropriate and offer his/her time, skills, and gifting as they apply toward the ongoing welfare and edification of the church.
