SPECIAL NOTE: Applicant must be a gifted sound engineer!

TITLE: Director of Technical Arts

HOURS: Full-Time Position with a mix of set scheduled job requirements as well seasonal demands and large-scale productions

DIRECT REPORTS: Audio Engineers and technical volunteers. (A supervisory exempt position)

PURPOSE / SCOPE OF JOB: To oversee all technical aspects of the Worship & Arts ministry including coordinating and integrating the various logistical aspects of worship services and special worship events

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Minister of Worship & Arts, works closely with the worship leaders and pastors of each worship venue or event and with representatives of the other ministries of CPC

1. Relationship with Jesus Christ
2. 3 years or more experience at a House of Worship
3. Experience as a sound technician (mixing on both digital and analog sound boards)
4. Experience at digital audio editing (e.g. ProTools)
5. Experience with video equipment and video editing ( e.g. Final Cut)
6. Experience with soldering and repair of cables and equipment
7. Experience as a production manager or producer
8. Knowledge of lighting
9. Good oral and written (English & grammar) communication skills
10. Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g. ProPresenter, Media Shout)
11. Proven experience at building and working with teams

1. Oversee technical staff for all services, special events and productions
a. Oversee quality audio/sound engineering for all venues
b. Oversee all recording and projection of video during services and special events. Including camera placement and the live “switching” of services. (Special attention is required to assure that the “DVR” system to the Video Café is operating properly.)
c. Oversee reproduction of audio and video recordings
d. Develop, design, and oversee all lighting needs for services and special events
2. Recruit, train, and mentor qualified volunteers to assist in W & A technical roles
3. Management of all W & A equipment
a. Manage inventory for all equipment
b. Maintain organization and security of all W & A equipment
c. Sees that all equipment is kept in working order, including basic repair and ordering new and replacement equipment
4. Assist the Worship & Arts staff with brainstorming and creative programming ideas
a. Take ideas and concepts from brainstorming meetings to the video team and assist with production coordination for videos used in worship services
5. Staff liaison to Media Ministry and CPC Web site
6. Primary Support for sanctuary activities
a. Principal audio/sound engineer for sanctuary services on Saturday and Sunday
b. Principal technical person for lighting, video, and power point for the sanctuary
c. Principal technical support for all sanctuary musical rehearsals and pre-rehearsals, including set-up, as well as post-rehearsal tear-down
7. Weekly Duties
a. Attend Tuesday worship planning meetings to see that there is coordination among the musical elements, the visual elements, staging, drama, video, lighting and PowerPoint in worship so that they all work seamlessly together
b. Set up for rehearsals in the sanctuary on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and attend when requested
c. Saturday and Sunday services
i. Ensure the stage is properly set up prior to Worship services, including stage furnishings, flowers, and decorations and coordinate with the responsible volunteer / employee leader to resolve problems
ii. Run Saturday rehearsals and worship services in the sanctuary
iii. Run Sunday worship services in the sanctuary
iv. Oversee execution of the flowchart for services and events and communicate adjustments to all participants
