Youth Ministry Director
Reports to: Pastor/Teacher
Works with: Paid and Volunteer Ministry Leaders
Supervises: High school & Jr. High students, staff and volunteers
Scope: The Youth Ministry Director is responsible for developing a ministry that balances outreach, fellowship and discipleship opportunities for our students in order to equip them to impact the world. He will develop and cultivate a Youth Ministry that compliments The Oaks mission: “. . .To Glorify God by being deeply rooted in Christ – to Love Him, Learn His ways and Love His life.” He will work closely with the Ministry Staff to communicate and collaborate in all ministry ideas and strategies.
This is a Ministry Directors assignment; a regular work week will range between 10 - 15 hours.
This is a part-time paid position. Your total compensation is commensurate upon experience.
Weekly Responsibility (50%):
Plan, oversee and coordinate the Thursday night Youth Group Study.
Oversee the Sunday Study for the Jr. High group - 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.
Produce and provide study manuscripts to Pastor Vic for both Thursday and Sunday studies.
Communicate with the church office of upcoming events for website and bulletin promotions.
Ensure the Youth Room is organized, debris is disposed of and the room locked and secure.
Camps and Events (20%):
Prepare a quarterly event calendar for the Youth Ministry with all pertinent information.
Organize separate monthly social events for the High School and Jr. High groups.
Plan and administrate quarterly student outreach, service events and opportunities.
Research and promote a Winter and Summer Camp experience for our students.
Maintain a safe environment for all students in the Youth Ministry within church procedures.
Using wisdom and discretion, meet and counsel with students as the need arises.
Volunteer & Parent Development (20%):
Recruit, interview, train and shepherd all new volunteer candidates, ensuring appropriate background checks and compliance within church procedures.
Mentor and encourage all Youth Ministry staff and volunteers.
Plan and provide semi-annual informational gatherings for Parents of Students.
Ministerial Issues (10%):
Perform baptisms, serve communion, and participate in the Worship Service when called upon.
Participate in all Staff and Ministry Leaders meetings when scheduled.
Participate in church events: Worship, outreach, and fellowship as time allows.
Participate in the Pre-Service Prayer Gathering on Sunday mornings.
Set an example, model righteousness and dependency on God before our students.
