Job Description:
Title: Student Ministry Pastor/Next Generation Pastor
Reports to: Staff Pastor

Overall Role & Responsibilities:
Summary: This role serves to provide oversight and leadership for the entire Student Ministry (7th-12th grades) and direct and implement a dynamic high school program. In addition, this role may include oversight of Children’s Ministry or College and Young Adults based on gifting, passion and capacity.

Specific Tasks:
• Lead and manage the Student Ministries Staff Team of GFC
• Oversee a vibrant volunteer ministry for Student Ministries
• Facilitate annual ministry planning for Student Ministries
• Create and manage the annual budget for Student Ministries
• Oversee the program structure and content for both the weekly large group worship service Epic and age-graded, gender-based small groups
• Serve as the primary teaching pastor for Student Ministries and the developer of other teachers
• Serve as the implementing leader of strategies, initiatives and processes for High School ministry
• Insure the integration and alignment of Student Ministries with the overall ministry framework of GFC
• Serve as a member of the Staff Leadership Team
• Additional responsibilities of oversight based upon gifting, passion and capacity to expand this role

• Spiritually mature
• Passion for ministry to students and their families that is second to none
• Ability to work collaboratively with families, student ministry staff, volunteers, and parents.
• Effectively lead a growing student ministry of 100+
• A theology degree or equivalent (degree in student ministry preferred)
• Experience in overseeing staff and volunteers
• Agreement with GFC’s doctrine, mission, vision and values
• Effective communicator in large group and informal settings
• Very effective at teaching the Bible and helping others teach the Bible
• Strategic thinker and implementer
• Small group leadership development
• Effective staff supervision
