Job Description:
Wabash Friends Church is now accepting applications for a full-time Youth Pastor who will create a dynamic youth ministry to equip, train, and develop seventh to twelfth grade youth to become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• develop a vision and mission that tie into the church’s mission and identify goals for youth
• build effective teams of passionate adults who will help to put the vision and mission into action;
• cultivate a close relationship with children’s ministry to aid fourth, fifth and sixth grade students in making a positive transition into middle school;
• develop programs for Sunday morning, mid-week outreach, student leadership, special events, and
trips that teach students about the foundational truths of a Christian worldview and how to live that out in everyday life;
• develop a strategy and providing resources to assist parents in leading the spiritual development of their middle and high school students;
• meet weekly with the pastoral staff for unified vision and strategic planning

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications: The applicant must be a follower of Jesus Christ, displaying a strong moral character, honesty, and integrity above reproach and an intuitive understanding of how teenagers grow; a bachelor’s degree in ministry, Christian education, or childhood development is required; a master’s degree in a related field is desired; 3-5 years of ministry experience preferred. The successful candidate will possess: a proven proficiency in leading and building teams; the ability to think creatively; a positive attitude; a passion for youth; the ability to equip volunteers and provide resources for parents; Skills in organization, communication, curriculum design and relationships are essential for this position.
Accountability: The Youth Pastor reports to the lead pastor and is accountable to the pastoral staff and the Ministry and Oversight committee and the monthly meeting.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time, exempt position with a regular work schedule of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. four days during the week and Sundays. Evenings and additional hours are required to meet the demands of the position.

Wabash Friends ministers to the whole person (physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually) helping people become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ. We seek to meet the needs of the broken-hearted through various ministries such as Wabash Friends Counseling Center, The Access (youth center), MOPS, regular bible studies and grow groups and world mission teams. Average attendance of our three Sunday morning services (traditional and contemporary) is more than 500 with four full-time and three part-time ministerial staff members.

Our church places a high priority on children and youth, having just opened a newly constructed Family Center for our complete children and youth ministries programs as well as Little Friends Day Care and Preschool. Our children’s curriculum encourages parental involvement and coming alongside families to provide resources and aid them in the spiritual development of their children and youth.
