Job Description:

Gardendale- Mt. Vernon United Methodist is currently searching for a Director of Lay Ministries. Gardendale-Mt. Vernon, located just north of Birmingham, Alabama, is a growing church with 750 in three different styles of Sunday morning worship services. Our vision is to “Grow More Fully Committed Disciples of Jesus Christ.” This position will provide leadership to the Discipleship areas of our church, where we are committed to growing persons in the image of Christ and equipping disciples to serve using their spiritual gifts. A love for Jesus Christ and a sense of calling to full-time ministry is vital. Preference will be given to persons who have leadership experience in the areas of Discipleship – Lay Ministries and have at least a Bachelor’s Degree. Candidate must possess understanding and passion for worship, discipleship, missions, and outreach. Candidate should also possess a capacity for visionary team building and equipping for the sake of effective ministry.
