Church Size: 1501 to 2000
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

Desert LIfe Church is a young, fast-growing, high energy, multi-ethnic church located in North Scottsdale - one of the Valley of the Sun's premiere locations. DLC was started 9 years ago by NFL Arizona Cardinal, Andre Wadsworth, as a Bible Study for his teammates. That Bible Study has since turned into a church that is pastored by Travis Hearn. In addition to being the DLC pastor, Travis Hearn is the Team Chaplain for the Phoenix Suns and the Oakland Athletics.

By the nature of the history of the church, DLC is an extremely diverse church with a strong presence of former and current pro-athletes in attendance. It's not "just athletes" - but there are a great deal of them.

DLC is looking for a worship leader/music pastor as our current worship leader is making plans to move to Carlsbad, California to help her father with one of our church plants. The worship leader would lead our two (getting ready to go to three) weekend services, organize rehearsals for band and singers, oversee the entire music department, lead worship for our pro-athtlete services, and report directly to the senior pastor.

Much of the music currently used in our church today are selections from Israel Houghton, Fred Hammond, Toby Mac, Jeremy Camp, Hillsongs United, Gateway Worship/Kari Jobe, BJ Putnam, etc. The key is "diverse".

This position if for a full time or even a potentially part time opportunity. If someone lives locally and works during the week - this may be a perfect part time minsitry for them.

NOTE: Please send a picture of yourself and your family along with the resume. Additionally, send a link of youself leading worship and note that out of state candidates will not be considered unless we are able to view material in advance.

NOTE: The worship leader does not have to necessarily play an instrument - but needs to be able to lead an extremely talented band; however, playing an instrument would certainly be a nice addition. Our current band members include a: drummer, 2 guitarists, a bassist, and a keyboardist. We currently typically have 6 singers on stage.
