Venture Christian Church is a rapidly growing congregation in the Silicon Valley. Venture exists to be a catalyst to transform the Bay Area from a place of spiritual darkness to a global strategic teaching and discipleship center for the gospel of Jesus Christ by partnering with Living on the Edge and like-minded churches to produce r12 Christians... here, there and everywhere.
The Small Group Pastor will be responsible for recruiting, training, and shepherding both coaches and small group hosts/leaders. Through relationship building, the Small Group Pastor will work with our small group leaders to help facilitate spiritual formation and to ensure that our leaders and staff are maintaining supportive and productive relationships. The Small Group Pastor will also provide support to our small groups by teaching at medium and café style groups, leading a monthly coach huddle, one-on-one meetings with coaches and small group hosts/leaders, and writing and implementing curriculum.
Must be a licensed or ordained minister of the gospel and have a four-year college degree; preferably a seminary degree or masters in organizational management or leadership, and 4-6 years experience with small groups.
The Small Group Pastor must live a Christ-centered life; understand how organizations function, how to inspire and motivate people, how to cast a vision with a contagious enthusiasm, how to work with an executive team, have experience in conflict resolution, and have the ability to maintain complete confidentiality.
This position requires knowledge of strategic planning principals and the ability to work with deadlines and multiple priorities. You must be able to lead and provide clear direction, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Windows.
