The Pastor of Spiritual Development will support the Senior Pastor in fulfilling the Vision and Mission of The Bridge by providing leadership to our C4 Connections strategy for spiritual development. The PSD will develop and monitor a system whereby each person who attends The Bridge will be personally guided, supported and coached to move through the four stages of spiritual development – Connection with God, Connection with Others, Connection with Ministry and Connection with the World.
Develop, direct, and communicate the Vision, Mission, and ministry of The Bridge through the C4 Ministry, in cooperation with the multiple ministries, committees, and membership of the church.
Provide leadership and direction to new attendees helping them to develop relationships within The Bridge and to find a place of ministry based upon their spiritual gifts.
Provide leadership and direction to NEXT, GoupLink and Starting Point ministries.
Develop and empower leaders to give leadership to various ministries under the C4 ministry portfolio.
Speak at Sunday morning worship services as directed by the Senior Pastor.
Establish departmental goals and objectives to meet the overall Vision and Mission of The Bridge
Develop, recommend and manage an annual budget for each assigned ministry in cooperation with the Senior Pastor and Finance Team.
Work in cooperation with all levels of management, support personnel, church leaders, volunteers, members and guests to fulfill the Vision and Mission of The Bridge.
The ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate discernment, sound judgment and spiritual wisdom
Manage difficult situations, including ministry or interpersonal conflict, through the application of Biblical principles
Be self-motivated, cooperative, innovative, courteous, conscien-tious, flexible, able to lead and act independently & consistently with the Vision, Mission, policies, procedures, and pastoral leadership of The Bridge
Give testimony and evidence of a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Communicate clearly and positively both in written and verbal form
Have strong administrative skills
React well under pressure
Treat others with respect and consideration
Work well in a team environment
Be a continual learner – ability to successfully learn and adapt to new environments and professional settings (e.g. application of new media in ministry)
Education: College and/or seminary degree desired, but not required if experience and references are equal.
Experience: Must have a minimum of five years verifiable ministry experience.
