-Strong eye for detail in all areas of work performance and ability to proofread
-High energy and time flexibility

Education & Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field preferred
-Prefer minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in professional communications/marketing position as well as project management experience

Primary Responsibilities / Activities:

Communications

-Coordinate communication project initiatives across the database administration, visual print design and cyberteam
-Partner with the leadership team to identify and deploy marketing strategies for key church initiatives and events along with the associated budget
-Develop and maintain media relationships, including maintaining an updated list of media relations contacts for press releases and other purposes
-Develop and deploy press releases and PSAs
-Write copy for bulletin, e-zine articles, marketing publications and other deliverables as required
-Publish the weekly church e-zine in Constant Contact as well as the monthly global e-zine
-Write and post content on Ginghamsburg Facebook and Twitter pages regularly
-Actively coordinate with ministries and the cyberteam to ensure church web page content is current and accurate
-Proof communication department products for grammar, style, punctuation, clarity and adherence to standards
-Maintain current knowledge of best practices in the field of church communications
-Reply to email or phone inquiries from attendees and other churches/organizations as required

Other

-Create/execute the project/event plan for church conferences
-Use reports provided by the finance office to track actual expenditures against budgeted amounts on a monthly basis and report on variances
-Track marketing expenditures against budget on an as needed basis (make vendor recommendations based on pricing and trends observed)
-Track and analyze printing outsource quotes and vendor usage (determine trends and make vendor recommendations)
-Recruit and equip unpaid servants for the communications area
-Generate purchase orders as needed
-Perform initial screening of vendors who contact the communications team and direct or turn-off as appropriate
-Serve as the backup when the database administration team leader is out of the office by managing data team projects, office equipment issues, supply ordering, database entry and other data team needs/responsibilities
