Southview Community Church
Herndon, Virginia, United States

Church Size: 151 to 250
Job Type: Full-Time
Southview Community Church is located in Herndon, Virginia, part of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, made up of people from nearly every continent in the world. Our area is a multicultural environment, and Southview reflects our community. Southview’s ‘Project 57’ initiative, launched in 2010, is focused on doing whatever it takes to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ with the 57% of the Northern Virginia community who are religiously unaffiliated. Through our web presence, we have had the privilege of impacting people around the globe, seeing lives changed for eternity. As we move forward, our goal is to expand our reach and ministry far beyond what we’ve done in the past.
We’re looking for a full time worship and arts pastor. We’re looking for someone with a genuine heart for ministry in the local church, a clear call from God, musical giftedness, a passion for worship, and leadership skills to oversee and equip a vibrant worship ministry team. Organizational, communication, and time management skills are a must. If administration is not one of your gifts, this will not be a good fit. As one of the pastors on our staff, worship will be your primary responsibility, but not your only one. We’re looking for someone who can build teams and equip others to accomplish the mission, not someone who tries to do it all themselves.
The right person will help us to create environments in worship that challenge, encourage, and equip people to take their next steps toward Jesus or in their relationship with Him. You will lead the worship team to minister with excellence in all that they do. You will provide oversight for our worship team, our sound, lighting, and media teams, our drama team, and our First Impressions (greeter) teams. You will launch new teams and utilize creative elements as needed to help us accomplish our mission of doing whatever it takes to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ with our community and our world.
A seminary degree would be helpful, but is not required. A willingness to continue learning and growing is a must! A teachable spirit is a non-negotiable requirement for leaders who serve at SCC. Experience is highly preferred. Audio/Video knowledge and experience is preferred as we will be looking for this person to make decisions to upgrade and advance our equipment as needed to promote and allow for growth and excellence. Additional pastoral responsibilities will grow over time as the church itself grows and giftedness is discovered.
In short, we’re looking for a creative, outside the box team player who can partner with us to shape the ministries of SCC to help us touch the lives of the people in Northern Virginia with the truth of the Gospel in a loving and practical way. If you think this would be a good fit for you, send your resume, along with a link of you leading worship, to email@example.com . You can also mail your resume and a DVD of you leading worship to Southview Community Church, 2620 Reston Parkway, Herndon, VA 20171. No phone calls please.
