Personal Responsiblity: . Following John 15:5, our desire is that all members of the Grace staff will seek Him first, and recognize that we are fully dependent on Christ. A lifestyle of personal spiritual health (dependence on Christ, an intimate prayer life, and regular time in God’s Word), pursuing all that we do as working unto the Lord. We CANNOT REPRODUCE WHAT WE ARE NOT LIVING OUT IN OUR PERSONAL LIVES.
Responsibilities:1. Some (but not necessarily all) of your specific job duties will include:
a. Structuring Large Group as directed by the Children’s Pastor (games, praise and worship, teaching, etc).
b. Reading and adapting the lessons each week to guarantee a positive experience.
c. Connecting the Large Group Teaching to the Small Group Teaching to ensure that there is application and reinforcement of the lessons.
d. Working with the Volunteer coordinator: Procuring volunteers to lead and direct Sunday morning Large Group experiences including oversight of puppet, drama, and worship teams.
e. Communicating with Large Group Volunteers to establish Large Group experiences are well orchestrated.
f. Equipping and empowering Large Group Volunteers to utilize their gifts and talents to create a memorable experience within Large Group.
g. Oversight of all props and supplies for large group are set up and ready for Large Groups.
h. Assist in training volunteers how to mentor and teach new volunteers in order to grow the ministry.
i. Continually look for the newest/edgiest music to incorporate into the large group teachings.
j. Help create an atmosphere where kids will feel this is “the best part of their week!
2. Organize & oversee 2 large events (VBS and a Kid Friendly Christmas Eve service along with small events through out the year.
3. Attend scheduled meetings as required by your supervisor, including: a) quarterly with the GFUMC large staff; b) all Children’s Ministry weekly staff meetings; c) Grace Fellowship All-Leadership Team Meetings.
4. This is designed to be a position that requires forty hours per week; you will arrange your working hours in conjunction with and at the approval of the Children’s Pastor to best facilitate your effectiveness and the efficiency of the ministry.
