Position Description:
First Baptist Church (FBC( is a dynamic, evangelical church located in New Castle, PA (about 1 hour north of Pittsburgh). We are seeking to hire a full-time pastor/director of children's ministry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a ministry plan for children from birth to sixth grade that is consistent with the church's commitment to the Biblical teaching that the home is the primary place where faith is nurtured. FBC is a church of approximately 750 that is known in the community for its excellence in ministry to children and youth its dynamic and authentic worship, its cutting-edge approach to world missions, and its generosity with all that God has entrusted to it.

-Has accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, has been baptized by immersion, and demonstrates love for the Lord.
-Meets the Biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
-Exhibits spiritual maturity through love for people, service to others, time spent in prayer, and knowledge of the Bible.
-Has a contagious passion for teaching God's word and leading God's people, especially children and their parents.
-Has leadership skills tempered by a genuine teachable spirit and an openness to personal and corporate growth (change).
-Has the education, training, and experience to equip him or her for effective ministry execution.

Responsibilities and Duties:
-Provide overall leadership supervision and coordination for FBC's ministry to children and their families.
-Develop a safe adn attractive environment of Godly inlluence on children, regardless of their family situations, that both reaches the lsot adn disciples believers.
-Recruit, resource, and shepherd a spiritually growing team of mentors.
-Work with the Weekday Preschool and the Preschool Advisory Committee to facilitate a mutually beneficial ministry environment.
-Support the larger ministry of FBC by participating in staff functions, supporting the Converge Worldwide and MidAtlantic, and working in cooperation with the board of Elders and other leadership teams.
