Job Description:

But just to start off… here’s two things you won’t hear at LIFEPOINTE:
“We’ve never done it that way before” & “You’ll have to ask the committee first.”

Located in a newer suburb of Sacramento, California, LifePointe is a non-denominational Christian Church. That's it - plain and simple. We believe the CAUSE of Jesus is to give us LIFE TO THE FULLEST and we RELENTLESSLY pursue POINTING people to this abundant joy-filled living. Through a relational value, we pursue the abundant life by building GENUINE relationships with others – and developing a PASSIONATE love relationship with Jesus. We preach the word with PASSION! In theology we are biblically conservative but in methodology, our approach is culturally relevant!

LifePointe stands on the edge of exciting opportunities and anticipate God bringing tremendous growth in the near future (both spiritually and numerically). We are replacing this position, and hiring our first Youth Pastor. Additionally, we just signed a lease/option on an almost new 24,000 square foot building and assuming we can move through the building process, we will be transitioning from a “portable: set-up and tear-down each week” church.

LifePointe is a 8 year old church planted in February of 2003 through STADIA: New Church Strategies. ( Our website is:

We are looking for someone to develop existing leaders and teams helping take our entire ministry to the next level. We desire an individual who wants to provide valuable insight and input into helping carry out the vision of the LifePointe well into the future. In other words, you will have the opportunity to be an active contributor to our direction and future. (You will be a “player at the table!”). Additionally, this person must be good at developing and maintaining the systems and structures of the church. There will be plenty of opportunities for a gifted communicator to teach at our weekend worship services.

We need JUST the right guy… and we’re praying – BIG TIME! This person has the opportunity to help LifePointe take its next steps so that we can make an even greater kingdom impact upon our community. If you are that special Associate, Teaching, Ministry, Pastor type guy… and if you’re feeling God might be leading you…… Visit our website at and go to “media” / “file cabinet” / “Associate Pastor Position” to learn more about job description, goals, standards, summary of expectations, and other important information about the position and then send us your resume and a PERSONAL email of why you feel led to apply. (Feel free to include audio of sermon or bible study, youtube video, facebook page, photos, “strengths finder” results, “DISC” profile, “Myers-Briggs” profile, etc.) We can then take the next step!
Please read information on our website BEFORE you submit email and resume!

DO NOT APPLY directly through!!!!!

You are passionate about pointing people to the abundant life in Christ because you love seeing transformed lives. Not content to see people merely come to church or even make a decision to follow Jesus, you relentlessly pursue people who are far from God and tirelessly challenge them to become everything God created them to be. For you, anything less is failure. Status quo is not an option for you. You want to advance God’s kingdom and believe developing leaders and team along with clearly executed systems and structures are key components to fulfilling God’s cause.

You are obsessed with developing leaders and teams. You know that a church can’t outgrow its leaders and that’s why developing and training leaders keeps you awake at night. You aren’t the kind of leader who leaves a wake, but rather the kind who is mobilizing an army of fellow kingdom leaders.

You know how to get the most out of your teams. If they are sitting on the sidelines, you know how to get them in the game. If they need a little help with their game, you can coach them. If the team needs some new plays, you are a master of X’s and O’s. Yes, this is ministry, but that doesn’t mean you and your team can’t or shouldn’t play to win.

You have the ability to develop, organize and execute the systems and structures of the church for more effective communication and ministry. Without good systems and structures you recognize the church is just “flying by the seat of its pants” and you are not satisfied to let the church stay there.

You have an ability to teach and / or preach. You don’t need to be center stage all the time, but when you are, you have something to say and people listen. You have no problem aligning yourself with the vision and being a catalyst to see it accomplished and carried out. You love to contribute to the process, but also have no problem NOT getting your way... after all, it is about the team and the kingdom, not the individual.

You thrive on impossible goals and pour yourself into them. Plain and simple, the bigger the challenge, the harder you work. If you do a job well, you don’t expect a pat on the back, you expect a bigger job to do next time. You love the local church and value people and especially your family. Most of the time you seem to have a never-ending source of energy that enables you to treat people in the church and your family as the most important thing in the world.
