Job Type: Part-Time
Crossroads Church, an eleven year-old church that gathers in Severn, Maryland, is a multi-denominational and missional congregation with a typical weekly attendance of 100-125. We gather together for worship which is contemporary in style and for Biblical equipping as we prepare for being sent out to live “on mission” in our community. Crossroads exists for people who are not yet believers, those who are not yet a part of our fellowship, and to equip those who are a part of our fellowship. Crossroads embraces our mission “to enable people of all ages and backgrounds to connect more deeply with God and one another as they live and reveal the Kingdom in all the ways revealed in the Bible”. We are currently looking for a lead pastor to join our team and provide shepherding and visionary leadership to help us move forward in carrying out our mission.
We are looking for an individual who is a fully-committed follower of Christ who absolutely loves helping people connect with God and become ever more fully committed Christ-followers. Seminary training and/or pastoral experience are preferred. The primary responsibilities of our lead/teaching pastor will include shepherding and loving our people, the effective preaching/teaching of God’s Word from a shepherd’s heart and with the goal of equipping our people for mission, and helping cast God’s vision for our next steps as a missional church and helping us take the necessary steps to get there.
The compensation package for this position will be in the range of 50-55K as a total package, including salary, insurance and retirement. The cost of living in Maryland is high, so we are currently thinking that this would be a great position for a pastor who is willing to be bi-vocational and devote 25 or so hours per week to Crossroads and also invest in impacting God’s Kingdom out in the marketplace for a few hours each week. There is a very good possibility that the position will evolve into a full-time position in the future. It’s also possible, depending on family finances and factors such as a working spouse, that the salary package we can offer right now would be adequate to meet a family’s needs, and if so, a full time ministry position at Crossroads would definitely be an option. If you think you’d be interested in this position, please submit a resume (and if your sermons are available online please include a link to those) and a cover letter by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org or mail those to:
