Church Size: 101 to 150
Job Type: Full-Time
Raccoon Ford Christian Fellowship is a family- oriented regional church located in a rural area eight miles south of Culpeper, Virginia. This debt-free contemporary church is thirty-one years old, is economically solvent, and is situated on 8.4 acres of property. Its forty-six families come from seven counties. The physical plant is well maintained and consists of a sanctuary that seats 200 people, a classroom annex and a wonderful playground area for children.
Our mission is the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20); our mandate is the Great Commandment (Matt. 22:36-40). These two ideals superintend all that we do. We aspire to love God wholeheartedly; to love one another unconditionally; and to serve others sacrificially.
We envision walking in the culture of the kingdom every day— equipping for ministry, coaching for destiny, and resourcing for life. We also envision being a catalyst for transforming the spiritual climate of our region and its cities. The phrase “the graveyard to the vineyard” describes this journey.
We place a high value on Scripture and see it as central to all that is done in the life of our church. We are a church that has also experienced a move of the Holy Spirit resulting in the establishment of a church culture that sustains healing, deliverance, the prophetic, and power ministry. To that end, we have had numerous annual conferences featuring well-known practitioners of these disciplines.
We are looking for a Pastor, who is full of the Holy Spirit; who has a proven ability to hear the voice of God; who can minister in the gifts and under the power of the Holy Spirit; and who is charactered according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7. We also want our pastor to be personally grounded in Scripture and have the capacity to effectively apply the Word of God to all aspects of our individual and corporate life.
We would like our pastor to lead, teach, train, shepherd and provide pastoral care for our congregation and its’ leaders. We would expect him to provide vision and direction for the church; and, with the existing team of elders, officers, leadership council, and congregation implement that vision. We would also like him to oversee and coach the department heads and existing ministry leaders within the church; supervise the process of spiritual gift assessment and implementation for members; and spearhead efforts to reach our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are looking for a Pastor who is sensitive to people, relational in his approach to leading, and open to the views and perspectives of others along the way. We place a high value on multigenerational church life and would encourage our minister to support and continue to develop that dynamic in our church. Lastly, it is important that the candidate passionately embrace our values as stated in the Church Profile, and fully adhere to the basic elements of our Statement of Faith. These documents will be automatically provided to candidates who are invited to go further in the application process.
Raccoon Ford Christian Fellowship has a part-time administrative assistant three days a week, a finance committee, an established altar ministry, a children’s church program, an adult and youth Sunday school, three regional house groups, an experienced multigenerational worship team, a nursery, a local and foreign missions committee, men’s and women’s ministry, a lay-led youth ministry, a multi-media ministry, and a paid person who cleans the church. Our current pastor is leaving after sixteen years of service to pursue a formal career in teaching and training. The church has been a long-standing member of GraceNet, an association of twenty churches planted since the late 1970’s.
