Job Description:
The WoodsEdge (WE) Student Ministries Pastor shall be responsible for the Junior High, High School and College Age Ministries. The primary role of this position is to be a leader of leaders as it relates to student ministries. He/she will recruit, train and develop servant leaders who will intentionally develop disciple-making students. He/she will develop a ministry strategy to give parents the needed skills to raise their teens as God intended.

Job Summary
• Provide overall leadership and direction to the WE Student Ministry (SM)
• Support and carry out the mission and vision of WE within all areas of the SM
• Lead and administrate various staff members, interns and volunteers
• Provide general oversight for the spiritual, emotional and relational development of the students and their families

• Serve as key vision castor for the overall SM (multi-site experience is a plus)
• Coach and lead youth staff, interns and volunteers
• Build a SM that is strong because of the great team of volunteers and leadership
• Leadership must incorporate a solid cultural perspective with a clear path of how to reach teens in this current culture
• Ministry plan needs to be designed annually to outline goals and objectives of the SM
• The candidate needs to have a proven track record of recruiting, training and equipping lay volunteers and staff

• Assure all financial management is within the annual budget
• Assure that legal requirements are upheld
• Provide a safe environment for students by ensuring all staff and volunteers have been thoroughly screened before being hired or recruited to serve
• Ensure that attendance and church systems are maintained to reflect WE policies and procedures

• Give leadership to develop a healthy balance of discipleship, worship, missions and student activities that support the core values of WE
• Oversee Sunday mornings, mid-week worship and/or small group ministries, Disciple Now/Retreats, Youth Camp and mission trips as a part of core programming of the SM at WE
• Programming should give evidence of a long-term development plan that incorporates a smooth transition from children’s ministries as well as a smooth transition into college
• This position requires the ability to communicate competently with both youth and adults
• Equal time of speaking, personal presence and energy will need to be given to both junior and senior high ministries
• This candidate may be called upon on occasion to preach in our worship services as requested by the Executive or Senior Pastor

Family Ministry
• Focus will not only be on students but the parents of teens
• Family ministry may include, but not be limited to, family health seminars, parenting teen classes, drug awareness, crisis intervention and support groups for parents of teenagers

Relation to Staff
• The SM Pastor will report to the Executive Pastor and will serve as a member of the Leadership Team
• He/she will give direct leadership to all youth staff, interns and volunteers
• This candidate will be responsible for vision alignment within the department and will be responsible for staff evaluations, coaching and redirecting as needed

• Must be pursuing a growing relationship with Jesus Christ that reflects a daily unhurried time with the Lord
• He/she will demonstrate a lifestyle of holiness, love and compassion
• Actively involved at WE
• Fully engaged in the mission and vision of WE
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be a strong team player – leading with concern for the overall ministry of WE and not just the SM
• Knowledge of computer systems, including word processing, electronic communication software, membership software and financial reporting and accounting software
• Proven work ethic and strong sense of excellence
