Job Description:
Currently WoodsEdge (WE) has a healthy Children’s Ministry (CM) and we are looking for a Children’s Pastor who will build on our current strengths and create ministry experiences that are dynamic and life changing for our children in our church and our community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and vision overall to the CM of WE and ensure that the overall vision of WE is fulfilled in our CM
• Vision casting, development, coordination implementation and leadership development are essential in this leadership position
• Build a CM staff that is passionate, creative and willing to take risks to reach children and families in our community
• Oversee Weekend Children’s Church and Small Groups, Wednesday night programming, Mother’s Day Out and preschool program (to be created), Vacation Bible School and all other special events and programs
• Build a healthy reputation of the CM within our community
• Develop a cohesive plan to hand off sixth grade students to our Student Ministry
• Serve as a catalyst in providing experiences/environments where you minister to the parents of children through parenting classes – i.e. training parents to care for the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of their children
• Serve as a resource to parents on all developmental stages of a child’s life
• Select/write, evaluate, purchase and monitor overall curriculum for birth through sixth grade
• Have a working knowledge of state regulations regarding childcare and childcare facilities
• Attend weekly prayer and staff development
• Lead weekly CM staff meetings
• Conduct one on one staff meetings with each of the children’s ministry team
• Plan training and retreat events, provide opportunities for staff to attend conferences and networking events
• Prepare and administer the CM budget, annual ministry plan and personal growth plan
• Serves as a member of the Leadership Team
• Work up to 50 (55) hours per week
• Attend or host conferences to stay up on current trends of children’s ministry

Job Titles Supervised:
• The Children’s Pastor will oversee a CM staff team consisting of:
- WeeZone Pastor
- WeeZone Assistant
- KidZone Pastor
- KidZone Assistant
- Director of Communication and Administration
- Montgomery Campus Children’s Pastor
- KidsEdge (Mother’s Day Out) Director
- Daytime Childcare Coordinator & Workers
- Evening Childcare Coordinator & Workers

Other Duties:
• Conduct parent dedication events
• Conduct baptism interviews with children to make sure they understand salvation and the importance of baptism
• Serve on pastoral team for individual and corporate needs of the congregation
• As assigned by the Executive Pastor

Minimum Requirements:
• Education: College degree or equivalent experience required
• Experience: Five years experience in a large church (3,000+ in attendance) ministry environment. If you are not serving as lead children’s pastor, please demonstrate how you have been given additional responsibilities in your current setting. Candidates with experience in leading a multi-staff team and multi-site children’s ministry will be given first consideration.

• Actively involved at WE
• Fully engaged in the mission and vision of WE
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be a strong team player – leading with concern for the overall ministry of WE and not just children’s ministry
• Knowledge of computer systems, including word processing, electronic communication software, membership software and financial reporting and accounting software
• Proven work ethic and strong sense of excellence
• Be in a small group.
