The Story of NMC Internships
Nappanee Missionary Church has a history of more than 25 years of internships. Since the early 1980s, NMC has invested in young men and women, allowing them to “taste” and “experience” vocational ministry. In May of 1996, NMC launched SOAR, a 12-week summer internship. The goal of SOAR is to provide practical ministry experiences while also providing opportunities for interns to deepen their intimacy with Christ. Over the last several years, more than 140 young adults have been invested in and sent out, intent on making fully committed disciples wherever they are in the world.
NMC will cover costs that relate to housing, meals, curriculum and ministry expenses. In addition, each intern will receive an honorarium distributed in six bi-weekly paychecks.

What former interns say about SOAR ...
“It’s an awesome, challenging program that will STRETCH you. You go in thinking you’re just going to learn about teaching God, you learn more about who you really are – which in turn helps you develop and you become a “communicator” in the process.” - Jessica Noelle (Indiana Wesleyan University Graduate)
“It has changed me for the better, opened my eyes to my selfishness and pride and given me a vision and passion in life to seek!: - Kieffer McCarron (Bethel College)
“It was a purposeful, challenging, stretching, but incredible summer. I was able to listen and see God work in and through me. It gave me a new perspective for my future and made me contemplate what I was actually living for.” - Tiffany Christensen (Bethel College)
“SOAR was completely life changing! God spoke to me in clear and affirming ways as to His calling on my life and the gifting he’s given me. I discovered and worked on developing my leadership style. I learned how to be a better communicator and work with a team of people where I was able to best utilize their strengths.” - Cortney Stace (Taylor University)
“It has absolutely changed my life in a positive way, more than i could have imagined; I’ll never be the same.” - Colin Urbanick (Indiana Wesleyan University)
“God grew and challenged me more in my walk with Him in fearlessness and boldness than ever before.” - Nicola Losik (University of Minnesota)
