Job Description:
Position Overview: The director will attract, train, encourage, and work with a TEAM of volunteers to provide programs that will connect the church and parents to help their children grow in faith and to know God. Our candidate will implement faith based Children's Ministry programs including Sunday School, Wednesday Night and Vacation Bible School that will give the children the opportunity to foster the gifts given them. Experienced candidates will have a passsion to serve children and their families.

Additional Responsibilities:
Engage and develop parental relationships and encourage family involvement
Increase communication with visiting families in hope of creating lasting church relationships
Research and select Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Wednesday Night program curriculum
Accept responsibility for the implementation and organization of four annual children's events
Coordinate and schedule nursery care - infant through Pre-K
Attend weekly staff meetings
Report to the congregation bi-monthly the activities of the Children's Ministry
Prepare and manage the annual Children's Ministry budget
Work with volunteers to organize teaching materials and maintain the resource room

Candidate Requirements:
Must be of the Christian faith and will become actively involved in the Methodist Church
Possess an outgoing, energetic, creative, enthusiastic and positive character
Have strong leadership and organizational skills
Understand basic computer functions
Previous experience working with children as a teacher, teacher aid, Sunday School, pre-school or day care teacher preferred but not required
Effective interpersonal communication skills
