The Creative Communications team at Sugar Creek Baptist Church is a highly creative and collaborative environment with a mission to support and inspire the ministries of Sugar Creek with innovative and effective media. We are a team of producers, directors, artists, designers, writers, programmers, technicians and musicians who are passionate about developing and executing shockingly beautiful, creative media to reach an audience who respond to spiritual concepts spoken in a visual language.
The Assistant Technical Director is a creative, energetic and organized team member who passionately pursues a vision for the innovative and effective use of audio and visual production technologies in ministry. The ATD plans, organizes, and directs the creative and technical production of live events for the Children’s worship services and their recording and distribution on various media. The ATD continually recruits, trains, organizes and leads a large volunteer community in the weekly preparation and creative production of Children’s worship services as well as other programs and events. He/she constantly strives to achieve excellence in the creative display and technical quality of video, audio, lighting, graphics and image magnification for the purpose of enhancing the worship experience. He/she collaborates creatively and provides technical assistance throughout the Creative Communications division. The ATD devotes a number of hours each week to the Children’s Ministry in order to plan and provide the live production support needed in that area. The ATD serves on the Creative Communications division staff and is immediately responsible to the Director of Technical Production. He/she will be expected to make himself available for ministry opportunities with ministers of other divisions in the spirit of teamwork on any other projects deemed appropriate and offer his/her time, skills, and gifting as they apply toward the ongoing welfare and edification of the church. This is a full time, salaried position with benefits for the employee only.
SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL:
The ATD is a devoted follower of Christ and must maintain a life of spiritual development and accountability. He/she must refrain from social or private behavior considered or interpreted as unbecoming a devoted follower of Christ. The ATD will lead teams of church members and must be suited for a role of spiritual leadership within the church. Additionally, this person will model:

The ATD promotes creativity, volunteerism, teamwork, fellowship, spiritual growth and creative and technical excellence in all programs and events. The ATD must excel at recruiting, training and directing technical ministry staff, contract workers and teams of volunteers to accomplish live video and audio production. To accomplish this, the ATD will:
Fill a role as a leader within a task-oriented, small-group based ministry structure
Recruit, train and facilitate people to serve in ministry under his/her leadership
Exhibit continual growth in the number of involved volunteers
The ATD produces and directs all events in the new Children’s building and assists with other on-campus events and off-campus church sponsored activities. The primary weekly event will be producing the Children’s worship services. For these activities, the ATD is responsible for achieving production excellence in the areas of audio, video, staging, lighting, presentations, and image display. In addition, the ATD is responsible for the quality preparation, production and encoding of church media for podcasts, IPTV and internet streaming.
PRODUCTION SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE AND OVERSIGHT:
The ATD assists with research, purchase, installation and maintenance of AVL systems as assigned by the Director of Technical Production.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a call to ministry work for the purpose of utilizing video production to impact our community and world for Christ.
At least 2 years experience in live event production in a worship environment.
A comprehensive understanding and expert knowledge of sound reinforcement, standard and intelligent lighting systems, video production and staging systems.
A pro-active work ethic including a self-motivated drive for quality and creativity.
Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task several projects at the same time.
Flexibility to adapt to unforeseen circumstances and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
Extreme attention to detail and a passion for excellence in creative and technical production.

Proficient use of the following programs: Word, Excel, Pages, Numbers, ProPresenter, Powerpoint,
Knowledge of the following programs is a plus: ProTools, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, After Effects
Advanced knowledge of the latest version of the Mac OS X operating system
