The Pastor of Children's Ministry (PCM) is responsible for developing and carrying out all facets of Children's Ministry which exists to equip the family in its effort to establish a solid spiritual foundation where children are seeking to Know God, to Follow Him and Give themselves. The PCM oversees and participates in planning the programming and activities of children birth through 4th grade.
Captures a vision and philosophy for Children's ministry that supports the overall mission and vision of Red Mountain Community Church.
Plan, evaluate and promote new or existing programs which help transform a new generation of children through Christ.
Recruit, train, develop and motivate volunteers.
Develop relationships with parents; works with the Pastor of Family Life to equip them and encourage family involvement in all programs and events.
Increase communication with visiting families to help retain families.
Develop and oversee child safety policies.
Perform other PCM duties as required.
The PCM reports to the Executive Pastor and is accountable to the Elder Board and the membership, which are in turn accountable to the headship of Jesus Christ.
Have an attested call to children, including: teaching, proclaiming the Gospel, nurturing spiritual growth and leadership development.
3-5 years experience at a pastoral level.
A bachelor's degree in education or child-related field.
Mature and growing Christian faith which is evident in all areas of life.
Strong ability to lead and equip staff and volunteers, but willing to serve on a "hands-on" basis.
Strong leadership skills and a teachable spirit.
A self-starter and spiritually mature.
Ability to shepherd and encourage staff, children and parents.
A team player with a good sense of humor.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
