To supervise the financial, business and administrative affairs of Good Shepherd Presbyterian
Reports to the Head of Staff for matters relating to Ministry and Programs and to the Management Committee (Chair of Stewardship and Personnel) for business, financial and administrative matters of the Church.
•Maintain accounting of all monies and securities received by the Church including maintenance of petty cash, Church checking accounts, contribution accounts and general ledger
•Provide accounting records, monthly financial and tax reporting as needed
•Assist the Budget Team with the preparation of the annual budget and make recommendations to committee chairpersons
•Prepare payroll and maintain employee payroll/personnel records in accordance with church personnel policies
•Oversee and ensure proper oversight and management of all church administrative operations and services such as policies and procedures, general and employee insurance coverage, corporate records, and repairs and maintenance.
•Promote teamwork and coach the office staff to ensure a smooth business-like efficiency of office operations.
•Supervise the daily responsibilities/tasks of the custodian, media manager and office staff, which may include office volunteers.
•Organize and conduct weekly meetings with the office support staff.
•Supervise activities related to the maintenance of the facility. Coordinate and prioritize the facilities requests with the Custodian.
•Serve as ex-officio member of the Stewardship (Budget, Endowment and Buildings and Grounds) Committees (without vote).
Other duties as assigned
Demonstrate a mature Christian faith and interest in sharing in the ministry of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.
Demonstrate comprehensive payroll, accounts payable and general ledger accounting knowledge and skills.
Knowledgeable of computer operations, both software and hardware.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of church and personnel matters.
Ability to communicate and work with diverse personalities and age groups.
