Children’s Ministry Director Job Description
Praise Christian Fellowship (PCF)
To oversee ministries that support parents in the discipling and nurturing of their children from birth through fifth grade.
Demonstrate that he/she is a Christian, preferably a member of PCF.
Will become a confessing member of Praise Christian Fellowship, and will support and uphold Praise’s Statement of Faith, Mission Statement and work within the authority structure provided by the church constitution.
Demonstrate love and respect for children, a strong desire to see them grow spiritually, and an understanding of their needs and interests.
Strong ability to communicate and work well with children, parents and staff.
Strong ability to plan, administrate, recruit, and delegate.
Demonstrate an understanding of the Church’s mission and how it is carried out via various children’s ministries.
The Director of Children’s Ministry directly reports and is accountable to the Lead Pastor.
Attend and contribute in scheduled staff meetings and Ministry Community.
Meet regularly with the Lead Pastor for accountability and encouragement.
Develop “PCF Children’s Ministry Plan” with specific short-term and long-term goals for existing and new ministries based on identified and prioritized needs of children and families.
Serve as Sunday School (SS) Director.
Support and advise Children’s Ministry Leaders.
Communicate with parents on a regular basis about programs, events, expectations, goals, needs, safety issues.
Plan and supervise advance promotion of special events (fall start up, special holiday events, VBS, graduations and other children focused events), maintain children’s awareness via ministry spotlights in worship services, Ministry Community, etc.
Maintain application and safety records for all Children’s Ministry volunteers.
Compensation & Hours:
This is a part-time job. Normal work time is to be agreed upon with the Lead Pastor. Pay will be based upon hours worked with no paid sick or personal days. Paid time off is granted for certain holidays (see PCF Employee Handbook). Compensation is hourly, based on submission of semi-monthly time card from which required withholding will be deducted. This position is for 20 hours/week.
