Position: Director of Worship (30 hours/week) – Leads the implementation of the vision of worship across ALL worship venues and sites. Utilizing teams and team leaders, the people serving/leading, as well as the participants in each worship experience, will grow on their journey of Discipleship.

Accountable to: Senior Pastor

Responsible for:
Articulating and implementing the mission and vision of FCUMC throughout all aspects of the worship ministry
Supervising and coaching of staff for both contemporary and traditional worship services, as well as volunteer leaders in worship ministry according to the org chart.
Supervising and coordinating the weekly worship service design process which includes drama, music, media, preaching and other key elements.
Leading and Directing the worship planning teams – Global; Worship and Implementation.
Supervising of First Impression Ministries.
Dreaming and Implementing the next worship venue (with the Senior pastor)
Coordinating with and Communicating to related ministry teams and leaders (e.g. First Impressions; Sound/Tech; Drama; Arts; Set up…)
Facilitating and Championing the strategic goals set by the BSL as it pertains to worship.

Excellent team-based leadership abilities.
Appreciation of multiple styles of worship/music.
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in and contribute to an overall staff team “strengths-based” environment
Great relational skills with people of all ages and situations
Worship leader, band leader and ensemble/choir leader experience – preferred.
Ability to arrange and chart music of all styles – preferred.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree – preferred
Paid staff supervisory experience in a large church setting; or equivalent in other business or
non-profit setting.
Vocal and instrumental expertise in multiple styles of music – preferred.
Track record of successful recruitment/equipping/training of volunteers

Additional Responsibilities:
Part of the Lead Team – weekly meetings and carry vision to worship ministries.
Coordinates with other appropriate staff and ministries to develop and keep healthy the music/worship ministries of the whole church. e.g. – Youth, Children’s, Seniors…
Determine and recommend the organizational structure, space usage, and equipment needs for the music ministry.
Participates in regional and national networking for continued information, ideas and cutting-edge impact in worship and music ministries.
Development of a personal plan for continued growth/expertise.
Participates with the Senior Pastor and Board in discerning and developing the next worship/church site.
