Job Description:

Title: Music Director at Grace Evangelical Church, Elgin, Illinois

Position: Part Time- about 8 hours per week.

Main responsibilities:
-meets with and coordinates with church staff weekly
-schedules music team and practices with them weekly
-leads the worship team and congregation in Sunday morning worship
-develops the worship team and various ensembles
-coordinates with AV
-helps in scheduling "special music"

Criteria:
-has a growing love for and knowledge of Jesus
-is musically trained
-is able to lead and develop other musicians
-is able to call and lead the congregation to worship
-is comfortable with a blended format of music expressions
-wants to help craft the Sunday morning service in coordination with other staff

GEC is in transition now. The current Pastor of Student Ministries (full time) will be installed as the new lead Pastor at the beginning of September. Our current music director (part time) is going off to college. Our current lead Pastor is pulling back to part time in order to work part time with a missions agency that focuses on training Pastors in the developing world. We welcome the changes that God is bringing to our church family and look forward to worshiping together under a new music director.
